What we build
Aluminium Awnings designs, fabricates and installs outdoor structures across the Western Cape, from a single louvre roof over a patio in Constantia to multi-bay aluminium pergolas and lined patio ceilings for estates, restaurants and developers. Same shop, same crew end-to-end: we take a brief, plan it carefully, fabricate in our Cape Town workshop and install it on your site.
We work in two material families. Aluminium, powder-coated marine-grade extrusion with a lifetime corrosion guarantee, for pergolas, louvre roofs and patio ceilings where longevity and a clean architectural line matter. Composite, UV-stable, low-maintenance and timber-look, for pergolas where you want the warmth of wood without the maintenance.

Common questions
What's the difference between a louvre roof and an extruded pergola?
A louvre roof has rotating aluminium blades you can open and close. Sky and breeze when you want it, near-watertight cover when you don't. An extruded pergola has a fixed roof of solid aluminium, glass or polycarbonate panels with integrated drainage. Choose louvre when you want adjustability and ventilation; choose extruded when you want a permanent fixed cover.
Should I choose aluminium or composite?
Aluminium is the right call when you want a clean architectural line, the longest possible lifespan and low maintenance, all backed by our lifetime corrosion guarantee. Composite is the right call when you want the warmth and look of timber without the sanding, sealing or splintering.
How long does an installation take?
Residential pergolas and louvre roofs are typically one to two days on site. Patio ceilings are one to three days depending on area. Total lead time from accepted quote to project sign-off is 4–5 weeks, covering fabrication, powder-coat, install and clean-up.
Where do you install?
Cape Town and the Western Cape: Atlantic Seaboard, Southern Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, the Winelands, Whale Coast and the Garden Route as far as Knysna and Sedgefield. Coastal installations are our specialty.

What warranties do you offer?
Most installs carry three guarantees: a lifetime corrosion guarantee on the aluminium, a 10-year structural guarantee, and a 2-year workmanship guarantee. On composite pergolas, fixed awnings, patio covers, polycarbonate awnings and patio enclosures the structural guarantee covers the aluminium frame. Drop awnings and outdoor blinds have no structural guarantee, and retractable awnings carry only their makers’ warranties. Every project documented and registered to the address.

Aluminium Awnings Cape Town enclosed our Constantia patio with a manual louvre roof, full white, with aluminium doors and windows all round, and it's honestly become our favourite part of the house. We use it right through winter now. The rain and the wind don't get in, and it's so easy to wind the louvres open when the sun comes out. Neat, tidy install with a friendly team, and the white finish looks really clean against the house. Couldn't be happier, highly recommend.

- All quotations, product information, images, specifications and estimated lead times on this website are provided for general information purposes only and may be subject to change without notice. Final pricing, finishes, measurements, fixing methods, drainage details and structural requirements are confirmed only once an official quotation has been accepted in writing and the required deposit has been paid.
- Lifetime Aluminium Corrosion Guarantee. Effective for installations completed on or after 1 June 2026; installations completed before 1 June 2026 carry the previous 15-year aluminium corrosion guarantee. Applies to qualifying marine-grade aluminium components supplied and installed by Aluminium Awnings and covers corrosion failure under normal residential use, provided the product is cleaned and maintained correctly. It does not cover powder-coating fade, surface staining, scratches, coastal salt build-up, chemical damage, neglected maintenance, steel contamination, impact, storm damage, misuse, alterations, or corrosion caused by third-party materials, fixings or contractors.
- Composite Guarantee. Composite pergola beams carry a product guarantee of 10 to 25 years depending on the profile (solid composite beams 15–25 years, aluminium-core beams with a composite finish 10 years), provided they are installed to specification and maintained as set out in our care guide. It covers manufacturing defects in the composite; it excludes the natural colour variation and gentle mellowing of a timber-look product, misuse, alteration, impact, and damage from failure to clean and maintain.
- 10-Year Structural Guarantee. Effective for installations completed on or after 1 June 2026; installations completed before 1 June 2026 have no structural guarantee. Covers the structural integrity of qualifying louvre roofs, extruded and composite pergolas (aluminium frame), patio ceilings, carports, fixed IBR awnings and patio covers (frame, fitted at the sheeting maker’s slope), polycarbonate awnings (frame only) and patio enclosures (aluminium frame only) installed by Aluminium Awnings, provided the structure has not been altered, overloaded, damaged, neglected, incorrectly maintained, or affected by movement in the existing building, walls, foundations or waterproofing. It excludes extreme weather events, abnormal wind loads, flooding, falling objects, accidental damage, unauthorised modifications, or failure of existing structures to which the product is fixed. Retractable awnings carry no guarantee from us, only their makers’ warranties, and drop awnings and outdoor blinds carry no structural guarantee. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act are not affected.
- 2-Year Workmanship Guarantee. Effective for installations completed on or after 1 June 2026; installations completed before 1 June 2026 carry the previous 1-year workmanship guarantee. Covers installation-related defects caused by Aluminium Awnings workmanship. It does not include normal wear and tear, blocked gutters, lack of cleaning, sealant deterioration from poor maintenance, damage caused by other contractors, electrical faults, motor failures, misuse, storm damage, or issues caused by the client's existing structure, waterproofing, paving, plaster, paintwork, tiles, plumbing or electrical services.
- Basic maintenance is required to keep all guarantees valid. Aluminium surfaces, gutters, drainage points and louvre channels should be cleaned regularly with clean water, a soft cloth or sponge and a mild non-abrasive soap. Coastal, high-wind, dusty and tree-lined properties may require more frequent cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, acidic cleaners, or high-pressure washing directly on seals or motors. Gutters, outlets and drainage points must be kept clear.
- Motorised louvre systems, lighting, automation and electrical components must be used correctly and maintained according to supplier guidelines. Electrical connections must be completed by a qualified electrician where required. Supplier warranties on motors, remotes, electronics, lighting, powder coating, sheeting or third-party components remain subject to the relevant manufacturer's warranty terms.
- Lead times are estimates only and may be affected by supplier stock, powder coating, weather, access, engineering, client approvals, third-party contractors or delays outside our control. Total lead time from accepted quotation to project sign-off is typically 4–5 weeks. Deposits may be non-refundable once materials have been ordered, manufactured, cut, powder coated or allocated to a project.
- By accepting a quotation, paying a deposit or allowing work to commence, the client accepts the quotation, scope of work, payment terms, guarantee conditions and these general terms.
